Description:
Our client, an international exhibition and publishing company which organises around 250 market leading trade exhibitions, consumer shows and fairs, in addition to about 65 related magazines, directories and market reports is presently looking to recruit a dynamic & proactive portfolio sales executive, to sell both display advertisements, exhibition stands / space, sponsorship and online packages across their kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms portfolio.
The salary for this position is £23,000 plus upto £5,000 commission + Car Pool + benefits.

Using your creative and consultative sales skills, you will identify, target and develop existing and new clients within the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms industry,. You will initiate contact with relevant companies & advertising agencies via monitoring relevant media, other exhibitions and the company's database to exceed all overall sales targets. You will also have to make face to face contact with as many major companies as possible.
Dimensions / Scope of Role:
- £2 million stand/advertisement revenue (team revenue)
- Territory – All of the UK
- Working with 8 others within the sales team including Publishing and Events Sales Manager
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
-To present the company’s portfolio of advertising products and sell stand/sponsorship and advertising including on-line, to achieve and exceed all personal and team sales targets, by identifying new contacts and developing the existing client base, via relevant media, exhibitions and the company’s database.
- Managing sales effectively and ensuring that advertisers are kept up to date with advertising opportunities.
- Execute sales actions, follow up on leads
- Play an active part in identifying sales opportunities
- Work from a sales plan, that develops existing business and generates new business using direct telesales, client visits, trade shows, direct mail, Internet and printed material.
- Assist with administration of market research to find new leads
- To keep an up to date and accurate record of all sales figures achieved.
- To make face to face contact with clients as and when necessary in order to maintain and develop the client base.
- Presenting creative ideas to advertisers in order that they receive the desired response from the variety of advertising products
- To deal with client enquiries via telephone and post in a prompt and professional manner.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Attributes Required:
- Proven media sales experience, including face to face, telesales and presentation experience (including Agency selling)
- Excellent communication skills at all levels and a strong team player
- Be able to understand and overcome objections and close new clients.
- A great sense of humour
- Confident & persuasive
- You thrive well when working to targets
- A self starter with a high level of enthusiasm and accuracy
- Target orientated
- DIPADA/AIDA training or equivalent
- Ability to lead research and generate own client base
- Full, clean driving license
- Ambition to succeed and progress within a dynamic and successful media sales environment
- Able to work to tight deadlines and meeting sales targets whilst maintaining a high standard of customer service.
